Description:
Powder coating is an advanced method of applying a decorative and protective finish. Powder coating is a dry finishing process. Finely ground particles of pigment and resin are electrostatically charged and sprayed onto the product to be coated. The charged powder particles adhere to the electrically grounded surfaces until heated and fused into a smooth coating in a curing oven. The result is a uniform, durable, high-quality, and attractive finish.
It looks like paint, but is acts like armor! It's tough. It looks great. And it lasts a long time. Powder coating is a superior finish. It provides a durable, attractive, scratch-resistant, resilient outer finish. It is environmentally friendly and virtually pollution-free! Unlike liquid paint, no solvents are used, so only negligible amounts of VOC's are released into the air. In addition, unused or oversprayed powder can be recovered, so any waste is minimal and can be disposed of easily and safely.
The RAL Color System:
The 4-digit RAL Colors have been the standard for choosing colors for more than 70 years now. At the beginning the color collection included 40 different colors. Its number has risen to more than 200 today. The RAL system is currently in wide use in the powder coat industry.
To assist in color selection, we have provided a RAL chart below. This is IMPORTANT. This chart was made to be as close as possible to the actual colors. However, there are many variables at play. Perhaps the largest problem is in different monitor settings. What looks right on one monitor may be to blue on another, or to yellow on yet another. The other major problem is that of texture. Obviously, the monitor cannot convey how shiny or flat something is, and that effect perception of color. This chart therefore should be used only as a guide for color planning and specification only.
If color matching is essential, refer to actual RAL paint chips from your local automotive paint stores. Customer assumes total responsibility for color selection.
